Digital Photography Final Project
I decided to make a photo composite for my final project. The subject of my work is a jewelry advertisement for Alexander McQueen. The reason I chose McQueen as my client was because I noticed that their fashion photographs tend to evoke a minimalistic yet enigmatic style. Their fashion campaigns are very simplistic in appearance, yet people can still feel the spirit of McQueen’s philosophies emitting from whatever is worn by the model(s). My work is a photo-composite and is made from three separate photographs. The reason I have two photographs of the same model is because there are some unique aspects that one photograph has that the other one does not, and vice versa. After creating a new photograph out of the two old ones, I went online to find an image of a necklace. I didn’t want to add more decoration to the picture because it would distract the viewers from the main subject, the necklace. I reviewed the necklace’s design and compared it with McQueen’s approach to jewelry design, seeing that it is important that the advertisement clearly reflects the identity of the client.
