Karma: An Exploration of Freedom

The idea of making a documentary film sounds very primitive to me, seeing that photography has been the only lens-based media I have used to capture the beauty of the world. Despite all the challenges that may lie ahead, I am very optimistic that the film’s earnest quality will be sufficient enough to communicate my message. What I have in mind  significantly deals with people’s perception and approach towards freedom in Indonesia. During this summer, I will travel around different cities and islands across Indonesia and get the best possible documentation at all times. More information will be announced later, because I’ve got an art exam tomorrow :P

Karma: An Exploration of Freedom The title clearly says it all. I was brought up in a world where freedom is partly taken for granted. However, I have witnessed how other people whose idea of freedom contradicts the general norm try to put an end to it. This documentary will delve into the reality of the lives of ordinary Indonesian citizens, exposing the world to what kind of freedom they are living in. Through exploring the different aspects of freedom, I will get a chance to come to grips with the real world, since I’ve been living inside a small bubble my whole life.
